The Salvation Army provides a wide range of services around Australia to support women and children impacted by domestic violence. They offer help through refuges, counselling and many other essential services. In 2023 they assisted more than 11,000 women and children at risk of or experiencing family violence, provided more than 83,000 sessions of care to people impacted by violence and provided 123,000 nights refuge/emergency accommodation.

Its Clown Doctors program draws on international research, using the psychosocial benefits of humour therapy to relieve fear, pain and the ill-effects of social isolation. In the past year the Clown Doctors comforted over 239,000 children across 21 major paediatric hospitals in Australia and one palliative care facility.
